Chastity

Last Saturday, out of the blue, my roommate asked me something like this: "Borbor, What is the point about being a chaste? What do you gain from this?" (or something along those lines)

After a couple of minutes, I remembered a quote that John Paul II said regarding chastity (I'll posted in a couple of sentences), and told him that being chaste only make sense as long as I have a supernatural outlook on life. If I believe that there's life after this life. If there is nothing after this, then there's no point in being chaste. After that, I paraphrased John Paul II's words:

"The promise of chastity is a matter of keeping my own word to Christ; a duty and proof of my inner maturity; it is the expression of my personal dignity"

I believe that by being faithful to that promise, I know that I will find that which I search for, and that which I search for will find me.

Γεια σου, Δ.Α.! Do I want to love the same way El Señor  Jesus loved? Normally, it is a question that I would answer yes. But it is always wise to know first what that means before deciding to do it. Prayer's efficacy

In today's world, in essence pragmatic and dominated by technology, we are are accustomed to the immediate answers to our requests (e.g. when we search something on Google, on our mobile phones, we get a reply in less than a second!). 15 years ago that was something inconceivable in terms of speed, and now we get annoyed when we have to wait (e.g. Why isn't my text being sent right now!). In a world like this, it is not uncommon for me to find the real sense of prayer. Or at least, to question if my prayers are really effective. Really, most of our life has been automated to the point where we interact with many things by just pressing some button and we're served instantaneously (e.g. microwave oven, elevator, thermostat, etc.). I have to admit that, in the case of prayer, I also have been tempted to expect the same thing. In occasions, I've seen that even if I prayed, I don't get to see any change (sometimes I do). Always with me Pt.2

Καλησπέρα και Χαρούμενη Κυριακή, Δ.Α.! This is something I wanted to add to my blog for a long time but I don't know why I haven't done so up to this point. I guess life just gets in the way, huh? But then again, life puts you back where you need to be. You know, today was the feast of Christ the King . It's the feast just before the time of Advent that is the prelude to Christmas. It's interesting that today, on the birthday of someone that I love deeply, I get to have this song stuck in my head. I wish that person all the best. At the same time, yesterday, one my cousins, who I love deeply, went to encounter The Father. It's been a weekend marked by sadness (for obvious reasons) and happiness (because of the fact that Our Lord called her on such a feast), and while this song is close to my heart for another special reason, I nevertheless wanted to remember my cousin by putting this song's lyrics here.
